Sydney Doucett

Sydney Doucett is a floridian illustrator and writer currently based in London. She completed her undergraduate degree at Florida State University in Creative Writing and Studio Art. While working as a professional nanny and pursuing her education in the Arts, Sydney rediscovered the joy of children’s literature. This reignited her fascination with traditional mediums and beame a perfect marriage of the poetry and art making she was cultivating in her studies. Sydney furthered her education and interest in children’s literature with a Master’s Degree in Children’s Illustration and Publishing from Goldsmith’s University of London. The final thesis projects included The Rowdy Raccoons and Alien Cat Attack, which showcased Sydney’s affinity for vibrant colors and character design. Since graduating Sydney has illustrated The Candy Necklace Princess by Katie Duffy and numerous personal projects that have expanded her illustration portfolio. This inlcudes work such as Picnic in the Park. She hopes to continue illustrating new worlds, writing stories, and designing woodland creatures.
